Hi, I have installed Alfresco on Tomcat following the guide. However when I run the apache-tomcat server and try to access the page a 404 error is thrown. I am just trying to access localhost:8080/share.
Could this be down to the configuration file being incorrect or another problem entirely?

Installation on Tomcat - No alf_data folder
Hi, I have installed Alfresco on tomcat, following the guide exactly, but cant seem to login when I start the server. One step I might have got incorrectly is step 2 of this link: http://docs.alfresco.com/community/tasks/alf-war-install.html. Is the alfresco folder meant to be stored within the tomcat directory?

Alfresco Community Upgrade
I'm trying to upgrade Alfresco2.1 Community to Alfresco3.0 Community (with Postgres Database)
First of all i don't find the scripts for the Postgres Upgrade (org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect) in
tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/dbscripts/upgrade/2.2/
So i have copied them from a Alfresco 3.2 installation.
Then i have:
- Installed Alfresco3.0 , launched and stopped to test if works
- Stopped Alfresco2.1
- Backed up Alfresco2.1 database with pg_dump
- Deleted all data in Alfresco3.0/alf_data directory
- Deleted Alfresco3.0 database
- Recreated Alfresco3.0 database and restored Alfresco2.1 backup
- Copied Alfresco2.1/alf_data/contentstore in Alfresco3.0/alf_data
- Launched Alfresco3.0
- All updates seems succesful, index are recreated, but finally i have this error:

Any experience installing and deploying community version in a virtual Linux server
Hi,
We would like to install and deploy the community version to a virtual server (provided by an web hosting company) to allow access within our small organization. We also need to install thirty-party add-ons and customize it, so we don't want to just use the Alfresco on the cloud solution.
I think it should be totally feasible and reliable to install it in a virtual server. Do you have any experience of that?
Another option is to install it in a personal computer. But it will have many negative aspects, for example the personal computer should be online whenever any user wants to access the system. This will be minimal investment but more limitation.

CIFS problem: empty catalogs after connection
Hello everyone,
I have a problem.
I try connect using CIFS to my Alfresco server. I enter in windows explorer: \\srv-alfresco\alfreso
and after connections can see catalogs: "Sites", "User Homes" and others.
But there I can't see subcatalogs in catalogs, for example, in "Sites" there are no folder of site where my user has consumer permissions.
What’s the trouble here?

Unexpected error in the SMTP handler thread
After setting up and using Inbound SMTP for awhile, I've noticed we're collecting a lot of errors in the log (below). Appears to be the same issue as http://forums.alfresco.com/de/node/31633 and referenced as "fixed" in https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/MNT-14140 back in 4.2.5. I'm using 5.0.a. Possible regression, or am I somehow configuring something so wrong that it can fail?
I've also pulled the community repo and looked at the code. Not seeing any obvious way an NPE can even happen in that method with the current community tree, so perhaps it is just a regression that's now been fixed and I just need to upgrade to 5.0.d to solve?

How to check if Alfresco is really running as root?
Hi,
I am running Alfresco Community 4.2.f on Ubuntu 14.04. I installed Alfresco using the downloaded bin file alfresco-community-4.2.f-installer-linux-x64.bin.
I wanted to run a content transformation from tif to txt, and have created the ocrtiff-transform-context.xml in
/opt/alfresco-4.2.f/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension. The xml file makes a reference to the script file named /opt/alfresco-4.2.f/ocr. There is a command /usr/bin/tesseract input_file.tif output_file -l eng in the script file. Tesseract converts the input tif file into an output txt file. The script file was made executable, owned by root.root.
I used the configuration as stated in https://forums.alfresco.com/forum/installation-upgrades-configuration-integration/integration-other-systems/tesseract-full.
The input file was stored in the /tmp directory and owned by root.root. The output text file generated by tesseract has ZERO bytes, which I am really baffled. I am able to run the tesseract command using the command line, but using sudo.
Is this a permission problem? Is it not that alfresco is running as root?
How do I check please?

Alfresco community optimal infrastructure
Hello Community,
I represent a Canadian non-profit regroupment of hospitals. Since IT Budget is very low we are looking for a very low cost solution to help the organisation by being more efficient.
We did a prototype of Alfresco community 5 and it running extremely well.
We installed it using required LAMP infrastrucutre and we integrated it with our LDAP authentication service for single sign-on.
Since the prototype went very well, we are looking to extend the experience and make it available to more user.
My question is : Is there any updated documentation (release 4+) that can help us to make a good planification of the infrastructure required for a number of concurent user ? If there is no documentation on it is it possible to have anyone internal documentation on how many servers / cpu / core they have for a number of concurent users ?

Alfresco community upgrade 5.0.d
Hello,
After migrating to Version 5.0.d, I have several errors at server startup. Attached is the log and alfresco configuration file.
The problem seems to come from the repository I have followed the wiki documentation and official doc but apparently the repo path is not taken into account.
may be because the keystore?
In addition :

CIFS access to shared files
I manage to create map drive in windows to \\mysite\alfresco
But when I browse the drive I only see my sites and a folder "swsdp"
I would like to be able to map drive to the public area "Shared Files"
Is this possible in Alfresco?
What would I have to modify to be able to access this via map drive (CIFS).

MMT Error
I have created two AMPs one for alfresco and one for share, however when I deploy the command... $_java -jar $ALF_HOME/bin/alfresco-mmt.jar install $ALF_HOME/amps $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/alfresco.war -force -directory $* from the script this warning comes up - WARNING: The file '/WEB-INF/lib/slf4j-api-1.7.7.jar' is being overwritten by this module. The original has been backed-up to '/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/module/backup/53e75990-4c0b-11e5-b31b-f58fe596a424.bin'
obviously I forced it anyway so it creates the .war file but when the .war file explodes on alfresco restart I only have a partial alfresco folder.. I am wondering is this overwriting important .jars? And if so how can I make it so it isnt?

Error while trying to ugrade alfresco-5.0.c to alfresco-5.0.d
when i try to excute this command under /opt/alfresco/postgresql/bin
./dropdb alfresco -h localhost -i
iam facing this error
dropdb.bin: database removal failed: ERROR: database "alfresco" is being accessed by other users
DETAIL: There are 11 other sessions using the database.

No me crea las tablas en Postgresql
Hola soy nuevo en la comunidad y necesito una ayuda.
Instale alfresco 4.2.c community pero el usuario alfresco en postgresql en su momento no estaba como superusuario y ahora que cargo el sistema no me crea ninguna tabla.
Sé que hay conectividad porque si me crea funciones en el área de catálogos pero en el esquema no hay ninguna tabla.
El entorno esta montado en Centos 7 con postgresql 9.1 y el instalador es el archivo alfresco-community-4.2.c-installer-linux-x64.bin
¿Alguien tiene idea de como volver a ejecutar los script de inicio de instalación?

Cannot run Alfresco 5.0.d community version
Hi,
I have downloaded the newest community version of the Alfresco - 5.0.d and installed it.
I wasn't able to start Tomcat so I wanted to install it from the instructions listed on the following page: https://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Updated_information_on_building_and_running_Alfresco,
however when I run mvn install I get the following error:

I think that there might be some other issues with the other libraries in the further steps.
How can I reslove it?

Facing java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
Hi Friends,
My alfresco 5.0 Enterprise is deployed on Red Hat 6 linux platform, I am facing strange issue on my all virtual nodes ( DEV / QA / PROD )
Here is my error :
